Coming Up For Air by Amanda Meuwissen is the first book that I've read by this author, but it won't be the last book that I read by her. The book had complex characters and an interesting plot. I was entertained from the first page to the last. The book is based loosely on the "Little Mermaid" fairy tale. Coming Up for Air read more like a fairytale, than paranormal. It's a cross between The Little Mermaid and Goodfellas. Coming Up for Air highlighted the 2 facets of merfolks. On one side there's the beautiful half human, half fish individual that's mesmerizing to watch swimming in the water. On the other side is the ugly fangs and claws killer.
